Jan. . . uary has a few more storms this year
to go.
We have seem the worst of them just
several months ago.
We were in the middle of our winter then
you know
When you laid down and left us like the
purely driven snow.
Jan . . .uary
Jan . . . uary keep the heart fires burning all aglow
Red roses that fill the aroma of what we can know
Open season in the middle of the white icy winter snow
Laying down dreams left by melting streams of verbal flow
Jan . . . uary
Oh bring me back to the open fields
Of words you spoke so often feared
Your presence far and yet so near
In Jan . . . uary
Jan . . . uary breaking all the fairy tales that never can survive
In the memory of voices screaming we will all survive
The dreams that lay unawakened while you slumber through the night
In the crevices of darkness that are waiting for the light
Of Jan . . . uary

MAGNUS MACHINA (C) Jan Cox
The more you believe you are right, the more you must believe others to be wrong; the more you believe you are good, the more you must believe others are evil, thus you will never find justice or live in peace. It is not life at fault, but your knowledge.
If you continue to accept ordinary knowledge you will always find that there is no good without evil, no right without wrong, no justice without injustice, no love without hate.
If you continue to live by such ideas, you will never see the truth, for the truth is -- there are no such things as your ideas of right and wrong and good and evil; your mind has been so deluded by this faulty knowledge, that these things have become factual and have replaced reality.
Instead of only seeing your one side of the coin, after you begin to shed this cloak of man-made knowledge you will see two sides of the coin; what you once saw as good, would now be seen to be but the other side of evil; what once was right and will be seen to be the inseperable, otherside of wrong, but this is but the first step, for the true nature-of-things is revealed when you discover the three sided coin.

Machina Machina (c) Jan Cox
Ah, truth and reality,
But who can see the truth, and who can perceive reality?
Men have long sought such knowledge and many have believed it to be secret and hidden.
Although it is unknown --it is no secret;
although it is unseen --it is not hidden.
You desire secret knowledge? -- then I shall give it.
The two men were discussing truth and reality, but where is the reality of their words;
where is the reality of what occured?

Magnus Machina (c) Jan Cox
Two men were once having a discussion and the first said to the second, "I have come of the enlightened realization and certainty that truth will never be found in the inept attempts of science and technology. We must turn our attention back to the words of those divenely inspired teachers and prophets of God."
Then the second man replied, "Well, I have yet to meet a man on such close speaking terms with the cosmic powers, and I can only conclude that man must deal with life and himself, here and now, and must somehow, find his own way."
The first man spoke again, "You are a fool to speak in such a manner. Are we to believe that man is here alone? Are we to assume that he created himself? Are we to conclude that evil and injustice can run their unholy course unchecked? You are deluded by the senses, and you mistake finite substance for infinite reality/"
And the second man rubbed his chin and replied, "I see that the truth inflames your feeble mind. But the foolish have historically been enraged by the simple reality of life. It is useless to speak to one like you about the truth."

FROM AN EVENING WITH JAN (C) 2006
After all these years it all comes down to “waking up”. It's the mind wanting to understand itself. It’s not me doing it. It’s the brain cells! Then it comes down to “How can this be?” And that is my method. It’s, “how can this be?" I can’t say that I’m not looking for any answers…there are no answers, but something happens. I can’t describe to you what this does to me, but it does something and I can’t believe it would not happen to you.

ENLIGHTENMENT (C) Jan Cox 2000
Some have said that enlightenment always succeeds philosophy while others have said there is enlightenment without a prior philosophy. Although no one can explain or describe such a thing, I feel that I flummoxed that one in my writing. Some people believe that enlightenment can only come about after thought, much thought. While some others have said that you can have enlightenment without any prior thought about it. Although no one can say how such a thing could happen, consider how could that be? Why would it be that no one can adequately describe it? Even those who say it can happen can't describe or explain it…and you can't either! But if you push it to the point of describing why you can't, you're enlightened…
or, you're not unenlightened.
or, you're not unenlightened.

THE DAY ADVANCED (C) 2007 Nick Anvil
When the morning passed the glances of tomorrow’s little dance
Off the dimly lit horizon
Of another day advanced
From the darkness came the light of yet another wasted chance
Yet another vast horizon
And another little dance
Twist the words and conjugations of another days repast
Fill the dreams of revolution
While a-laying on the grass
Watching clouds of day’s confusion in another valley lay
All the hope and travels varied
Dance across the verbal play
Come and greet me in the midnight when the clouds have all gone home
In the silent retribution
Words unspoken sing their song
The sentences of life that fill my brain from dusk till dawn
In the silent meadows echo
Come the words that feel so strong
Days of gone and days to go and days of yet to be
Fill this verse with words uncovered
In a field of yet to be…
Off the dimly lit horizon
Of another day advanced
From the darkness came the light of yet another wasted chance
Yet another vast horizon
And another little dance
Twist the words and conjugations of another days repast
Fill the dreams of revolution
While a-laying on the grass
Watching clouds of day’s confusion in another valley lay
All the hope and travels varied
Dance across the verbal play
Come and greet me in the midnight when the clouds have all gone home
In the silent retribution
Words unspoken sing their song
The sentences of life that fill my brain from dusk till dawn
In the silent meadows echo
Come the words that feel so strong
Days of gone and days to go and days of yet to be
Fill this verse with words uncovered
In a field of yet to be…
